NewHorizone Basics

Welcome to newHorizone

When you log in for the first time, you'll see the screen below. You'll get some basic information on how to get around inworld. Please take the time to read the information and follow the instructions here. At the bottom of the page there are links to more information and resources.

The Hatchery

There are a few things you need to do here before venturing out into newHorizone. You will see text scrolling at the top of the screen. This text will explain what you need to do. We'll go over it here as well. You can use the scroll bars in the text area at the top of the screen if you want to re-read the information presented.

The first thing you want to do is pick a name for your avatar. Once you know what you want to be called inworld, click on the wall where it says Name Registry, then you can type in what you want for a name.

Next you need to choose a gender. By default you will be a male. Click on either the male or female body and choose Buy this body. It won't actually cost you anything in here but inworld there are many different body types and those will cost you either inworld money (tokens) or you can buy a body from AvatarWares.

There is also an ATM, this is where you get your tokens. Click on it to see the options. You can check your balance or withdraw some or all of your tokens. You earn 100 tokens an hour while you are inworld (up to 500 a day) and these will appear in your ATM account.

Once you have completed all these tasks, you are ready to enter the world. Click on the door at the back of the locale and choose Pass Through. Once you do this you will enter the Welcome Center. If there is a Welcomer on duty, they will greet you and help you get started.

If there is no Welcomer on duty when you arrive, don't worry, you can still get assistance. Click on the Help menu at the top of the client window and choose Page Acolyte. This will send an automatic message to the Guide on duty. Guides are staff members who are here to assist members.

If you do page a Guide you will see a message in white in the top text area of the window that says Page sent. Shortly after that you will get a message from the Guide or Caretaker on duty greeting you and asking how they may help you. To answer them you will send what is called an ESP. On the toolbar on the bottom of the window click the button on the right on the very bottom. You will see a small text box with a drop down arrow and a larger text box. Click on the drop down arrow and select the name of the person who answered your page (the name will start with either Guide or Caretaker if it is response to a page.) In the second text box type your question and press enter. This will send a private message to them and they will then assist you.
